All our customers now have the ability to unblock a blocked IP address themselves via Mark, our chatbot.
Why is an IP address blocked?
The Internet today is a busy place. In addition to real visitors, websites are constantly being visited by bots that are scrapping pages on a large scale, requesting content or trying to find vulnerabilities. To keep your website (and those of other clients on our platform) fast and secure, our SuperShield security works continuously in the background. Suspicious or excessive traffic is automatically blocked before it can do any damage.
There is only a downside to that. Sometimes it can happen that a legitimate visitor (or yourself), gets blocked by mistake.
When can this happen to you?
A blockage usually arrives due to actions that our SuperShield identifies as suspicious, while you are just working. Consider:
- Multiple incorrect login attempts to wp-admin (typos in your password, or wrong captcha)
- Many requests to pages/elements that do not exist on the website
- A mailbox that logs in with old data, via a mail program, for example.
In such cases, your IP address may be temporarily blocked.
Check and unblock your own IP address via Mark
Until recently, you had to contact our support team to do this. No problem of course, the Superheroes are always there for you, but outside office hours or if you just want to get on with things quickly, that's not ideal. That's why you can now handle it yourself via our chatbot Mark.
In just a few steps, check if your IP address is blocked and unblock it immediately:
- Get your IP address from https://superspace.ae/mijn-ip
- Open the chat and start a conversation with Mark
- Click on the button IP address blockade check
- Mark then asks you for your IP address and domain name (this is the domain name on which you are experiencing problems)
- If Mark found a blockage, you will be given the option to unblock it automatically
